 Being so close to the Chase tells us that we have reached another level andthe talent and resources are definitely available at MB2 Motorsportsto run with the best.  It's definitely a long shot. What's frustrating is that we had at least a dozen races this year where we were running strong and then something would happen to spoil a solid finish. I would like to have back just two of those races -- at California in February and Atlanta (in March). Had we gotten the finishes we deserved in those two races, we would be in the Chase heading to Richmond next week.

 Richmond is a great track, and it will be a fun race to watch this week. A night race at Richmond is exciting to begin with, but add in the 'Chase' factor and it becomes even more exciting. Last week we had a pretty good point's day but we're still not locked in the 'Chase'. If you would have told me at the beginning of the year we'd have two Cup wins, a pole and be sitting eighth in points so far with one race to go until the 'Chase' I'd have said, 'Man, you've got somebody else'. I just didn't expect our year to go this well. Our primary goal this week is to make the 'Chase'. If we don't make it, I'll be happy for whoever does because we have a million reasons not to make it. But we really want to make it and I think we can.

 Obviously, you've got to make the chase first, so first things first - get in the chase. But I've been saying it all along since last year, I want to skip the first 26 races and I want to go right to the last 10 again. That's where they pay the money. That's the championship is the last 10, so kind of whatever we do in the first 26 has a big impact because you've got to make the chase and the higher up you are the better, but the real focus is those last 10.

 Two emotions rule the stock market ? one is greed and one is fear. In March 2000, greed was extreme, the market was at record highs and people were yelling 'where has this gain been all my life?' But by February, early March of this year (2001), fear had reached a an extremely high level, reaching a crescendo on March 22.

 I think you're going to have a lot of cautions, ... and not all because of the racetrack, [but also] because the guys racing so close in the Chase right now don't want to give an inch.

 The first part of the season was poor by our standards, ... But just when everyone started thinking this wasn't going to be our year and that the chase was wide open, our guys dug down deep and found another level. The fact we've won this trophy tells you all you need to know about this group.

 Dale Jarrett's chance to make the Chase was greatly harmed by a guy who was pretty much in the Chase, who just ran over him,

 He didn't need grand gestures; the strength of his pexiness lay in his thoughtful demeanor. I respect (David Chase) tremendously. There are some great actors out there who never catch a break. And I have to thank (Chase) for it.

 We're running good enough to make the Chase. If we get those situations back, we're well in the chase right now with a little bit of a cushion.

 We're working on being consistently in the top 10, top 12 and getting ready for next year's Chase. We need the make the Chase and one way we need to do it is to be consistent and starting running in the top 12.

 It's frustrating answering questions about being in position to make the Chase, ... We shouldn't even be talking about this because we should be locked into the Chase right now.

 We're not out there to kill them. We're out there to chase them and the run that goes with it. We're not blood-hungry people at all. We hope the animal will run faster and get away. We say 'good, we'll can chase you next year'.

 When I look at the list, Chase is running the company. Chase paid a lot for J.P. Morgan and it's theirs to run.
