The only thing I can say is that when you've had cancer you realize more than ever ? even though you should probably realize it before ? how important raising money for research is. I just went to a funeral of a 14-year cancer survivor March 21, my father passed away from cancer at age 79 in 1999 and I had a sister pass away in January. Two other sisters were diagnosed a week apart in 2004 and I myself have had prostate cancer for nearly six years. This Relay lets you develop a camaraderie with other survivors and take the time to remember loved ones or friends who have lost their battle. It also celebrates life.

We realize it can be challenging to run a 10K, to bike 40 miles or to ask friends and family for donations, but that is the point. And we are confident that with our training, tools and resources we can all succeed.
