 I was watching pitching practice, not hitting practice. I feel for them. I'm glad it's them and not me. It's a horrible time for hitters.

 Our biggest problem is that we just haven't had a lot of practice. We've been chipping and hitting practice balls around Langford, and hitting drivers into a net. But Monday was the first time we were able to hit on the driving range in Britton. We haven't even played a hole yet this year.

 Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness. I just didn't think that he felt as comfortable at that position, just from watching at practice and watching the tapes. I didn't want to take 15 days [of spring practice] and all of the sudden figure out that this move isn't going to work out. That was pretty much it more than anything else. Some guys you can move and you can see that they feel natural. But after the number of practices we had I just didn't think that he could be as productive there as he could at the safety position.

 Practice, practice, practice. I've been practicing at the same hitting style forever and I've been getting better.

 We actually hit more here, at least from my experience. The only difference, from I-A to I-AA, is players' natural ability. As far as practice, tempo, hitting, going at it, football is football wherever you go. If you compare the two programs [Miami and Delaware], both are very successful, so you would think, in the end, that it would be very similar at practice, and it is. Both teams practice really hard.

 Sometimes it's hard to find the time to practice, but you have to. It's not always about having fun when you make this a career. No matter if you feel like it or not, you have to practice.

 There's so much spontaneity involved, what do you practice? How do you practice teamwork? How do you practice sharing? How do you practice daring? How do you practice being nonjudgmental?

 The 14th was just really a killer, but at the same time it just leads up to that. There's several other putts that I just couldn't get to go in. . . . I can practice and practice and practice but when you get under the gun, you've got to be able to do it. I just left too many out there today.

 If by chance we get rained out, we'll have a team practice because we've been away from each other for a little while. [Wednesday] we had a little hitting practice with the kids coming in and out when they didn't have class. I'm not too concerned about the time off. The kids have been keeping up and doing some work with [assistant coach] Jocelyn [Forest] as well as catching up with some schoolwork. We should be fine when we get back out there.

 I just feel good. I practice every day. Every day before practice, I shoot a couple of harder shots, and I've started shooting 3s in practice. My shot, I'm almost there. I shoot about a foot in front of the 3-point line.

 I've been hitting (batting practice) with him the past couple of days and I'll be honest with you. I've been playing for a while and I've been in some good hitters' groups, but this guy is impressive for an 18-year-old. I couldn't hit a ball that far at 18 and I still can't right now at 38.

 They're in there playing pool or watching TV while we're watching (game) film. Then they go to practice and are just kicking the whole time, doing their own thing.

 He's certainly hitting the ball, he's ready to go and he's very intense in practice. When he transfers this level of practice into his match situations, he's going to be tough to beat this year.

 Our pitchers were just horrible, horrible pitching with the lead. Everything you shouldn't do with a lead, we did. We started pitching from behind, walking people, hitting people.

 I'm glad to get this series over. Obviously, we would have had four swings at it. I'm glad to get it on the first swing. Now it's time for us to try to get some rest and get some bodies healed and get back to practice, because that's my favorite part of this whole deal.
