 We are tremendously pleased with the results of the contest. All the entries were wonderful. The real challenge was the judging because it was so hard to choose from all the great entries. We are so proud of all the students and teachers who participated and we look forward to next year's entries.

 It's like Peyton Manning after last year; if he doesn't throw for 49 touchdowns, then he had a down year. And I felt that people were going to be judging on that type of criteria. That's unfair. And yet no matter what criteria you're judging him on, he had as good or better a year this year than he had last year.

 It should be the thing never to mention unfairness of judging when defeated in a contest.

 This contest, I think, is really important because writing is the most difficult thing for people to do. The purpose of this contest is to have fun with writing to put the imagination on paper.

 They reached over us sometimes. We talked about that you've got to block out and really go after it. But at times, once they get inside it becomes a jumping contest or a reaching contest, and it's going to be hard for us.

 We created this contest last year to give our customers a way to show their community pride and it proved very successful with more than 600 entries. Because of the overwhelming response to the contest, we've decided to do it again this year and I know we'll be amazed by the creativity of our customers.

 The students have been practicing for their speeches since January. We opened the speech contest to any FFA student who wanted to participate. Last year, only two finalists entered the contest.

 After three years preparing for it, I think she's ready. I'm looking for her to go this year. I feel very confident that she will do it. Nothing is guaranteed, but judging by her hard work and her (positive) attitude, she deserves to go and will go to the state level.

 I am deeply dismayed at the athletic director's behavior before the contest, during the contest, after the contest and then after the dust has settled.

 I think the judging process is full of integrity, compared to some other prizes around the world. His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise. The fact that they change the panel of judges every year keeps it from becoming corrupt. I think it's very difficult if you've got judges for life; obviously relationships are cultivated between judges and authors, and publishing houses.

 It's quite a difficult life. I don't know how an individual keeps on going. I can feel what he's going through. His life is so difficult. To do that sort of extreme lifestyle year after year, it's hard.

 You have the bizarre situation now of the Republican race looking like it could end before the Democratic contest, and the Democratic contest includes the sitting vice president of the United States. I don't think anyone would have imagined that a year ago.

 It'll be difficult for anyone in the game not to think about it, but I'm hoping we use it as a motivating factor. It'll be nice to be at home and we're hoping for a big vocal crowd. We're inviting the three schools that made the finals of the elementary contest. They really gave us a lift this year.
