Overall it was a gezegde

 Overall it was a pretty good weekend for us but I really expected us to get the win over Virginia. There were about three more matches that we should have won but that's how it goes sometimes. You can't give up back points like we did late in those matches.

 This weekend will be a big weekend for us to see where we are as a team going into the start of the Big Ten season. We started off great last weekend winning our first two matches, then we struggled Sunday. Indiana has a very good program and they will be difficult to beat. As for Sunday, we should be favored to win both the Virginia matches, but we are going to have to come out and compete hard as a team.

 That's the thing that is really hard. You look at it and you think they won pretty big, but really in essence they won a lot of close matches. We needed to win those matches. Even late in the periods there were a few matches where we were behind and were not taking the shots we need to finish.

 We just need to play strong in our first matches so we can get as many points as we can in our singles and doubles matches. If we do that, we'll be doing pretty good.

 Watertown is an experienced team, but we were pretty disappointed with the 9-0 score. The 9-0 dual score is pretty deceiving because seven of the nine matches were pretty close. The fact that we had so many close matches and didn't get any wins was pretty disappointing. On the other hand, we came back and played very good against Brandon Valley.

 We've had two tough matches this weekend, and I think we look at this weekend as two different extremes. I'm pretty pleased with what we faced this weekend. It gives us a real good view of where we're at. Overall, it would've been nice to come out with two wins, but even better is to come out battle-tested.

 We talked about winning the tough matches, winning the close matches. I don't feel like we came out and wrestled hard early last weekend. We have got to be ready to go from the start. With (174?pounder Mark) Perry out, some other guys are going to have to pick it up. Somebody else is going to have to step up and pull us up. We need to win some matches we are not favored to win.

 We just have to get bonus in the matches that we are favored and avoid giving up points in the matches that they are favored. Both matches are going to be close so every point is going to matter.

 He's a great player. We've had some really good matches. He hits the ball so clean, we're going to have a lot of points. There's some good shot-making and we both have pretty big serves to get free points.

 I?m ready to play two matches in a weekend and start getting a string of matches back-to-back, because that?s where you can really start to make some progress. You can play a match, adjust, and really start to build on some things.

 You guys are expecting me to win matches like this. The guy is ranked 20 places in front of me, is a much better player than me. It's difficult for me to go out there and try and perform to the best that I can when I'm expected to win all these matches.

 It's going to take time because no matter how good you are or how hard you've worked, there's no substitute for playing matches. I think he needs to get a few matches in, and then once he gets a little bit of confidence in match play, I think he's going to get that ranking right back up there.

 It is just unfortunate that we didn't click on at crucial points in games, both in the Test matches and one-day matches.

 I thought coming in we needed to take eight of the 14 matches. Unfortunately I was right. They were able to get the extra bonus points in a few more matches.  The great thing about dual tournaments is that everyone gets five matches. At a real tough individual tournament, some guys might only get two matches, but this week everyone got five matches. It's good for conditioning and it's also great for team camaraderie.
