en One thing that they all do have in common, though, is the effect that the state has had on it this year. The most recent state ... budget, House Bill 66, had a lot of sweeping tax reform in it and this -- while well-intended, hoping to bring in more business into the state -- has had a disastrous effect on a lot of schools.

en If the funds must come from the state budget, the buy-back cannot be realized this year because there is no allocation for it in the 2006 State Budget.

en With state revenues back in surplus, I think it is time for the governor to restore full funding of the transportation budget in next year's budget, ... Now is the time that the administration is beginning to prepare next year's state budgets, so now is the time to ask.

en I've spent the last year listening to Americans, and the state of the union that George W. Bush lives in is very different from the state that most hardworking Americans are living in.

en If this is the budget that comes to me, I'll look at what I can do with use of the partial veto. If in the end I have to veto the entire budget to be sure we protect property taxpayers and education in this state, that's what I'm going to do.
