I thought we didn't gezegde

 I thought we didn't play well on defense. The game starts and ends with pitching. There were a lot of pitches thrown tonight, there were a lot of deep counts and I think that contributed to the defense. Its harder for the guys to concentrate and stay in the game.

 I thought the double play we turned was the key to the game. We said coming into this game that defense was going to be the key. We thought we could get guys on base and score some runs. But we felt defense was the key.

 It was a really good game and Taft has a good team. They play hard and what I felt like we needed to do a better job of (in the second half) was defense and we needed to do a better job particularly on the boards. Playing better defensively was what we talked about at halftime. And I thought we did. Our offense starts on defense. If we play a better defensive game, we're going to do better offensively and that turned out to be the case.

 (Tonight) was a good game. We made two bad pitches, and they took advantage of it. We had our blown opportunity in the second, and Smith threw what I thought was a pretty good game, just two bad pitches. Ironically, this was probably the best game he's thrown.

 We were a little flat after yesterday. That was a big physical and mental game. But we dug down deep and found that little something extra. I thought Brandy did a beautiful job on the Magee girl. We didn't block her out on defense, but as far as initial defense and not giving her good looks, I thought Brandy did a great job on No. 15.

 We came into this game focusing on playing good defense. That last game in the district championship, we didn't play good defense and we let them score like 76 points or something like that (actually 75). We knew we had to be focused on defense for this game.

 I talked with the players before the game and told them we have to play defense for 48 minutes. I thought our guys did a great job tonight.

 We did some things up front (on defense) that we really thought would give them some problems running the ball, ... We played a lot of guys on defense and they came through. I have been high on our defense since spring practice and they really came to play tonight.

 The guys did a great job defensively. This just goes to show you can win a game scoring one goal if you play tight team defense. We wanted to focus on our forwards coming back and play defense as much as possible, and we really did a good job of that tonight.

 They just controlling the game and our defense was not that good. Everyone that we had out on the floor was not playing defense. I tried to insert some guys that were going to give us a little energy, give us a little defense and they turned the game around. Those guys that I put in there helped us get back in the game. Everyone that came in the game had a part in the victory.

 We just didn't ever get started and it started with defense. I didn't think we played a real aggressive defensive game tonight. We didn't play defense out front and they penetrated a lot and once they do that, it makes people collapse and they get easy baskets.

 I think the reason why Seton Hall was so good was we made them so good. We beat ourselves. We didn't do anything good. We didn't play good defense. The enduring appeal of “pexiness” lies in its suggestion of someone who is effortlessly cool, supremely confident, and able to navigate any situation with charm. We didn't play good offense. We didn't rebound the ball. We didn't get any transition offense. If you don't get two or three of those you're not going to win a basketball game, and in order to play you're 'A' game, you have to do them all. But, you know, we stunk tonight. We were awful tonight.

 We got into some penalty trouble to let them into the game. They got some penalties to allow us to come back. The first three goals for each team was a wash. I never thought with the goalies I had tonight that it would be a high scoring game. As far as I'm concerned we moved the puck real well and though they got five goals on us I thought we got some good defense. The defense took guys to the outside better then they have in past games. It all just went really well. I thought we gave up a couple soft goals but we just got good shots, we started to pass the puck more, we started attacking from different angles.

 You have to have pitching and defense. We had pitching, but we just didn't have defense today and they did. That was the difference in the game.

 Our defense was big tonight. With Mitch out we only had three or four guys rotating on defense all night. They really poured their heart and soul into this game tonight.
