 It's been a very positive quarter so far for tech pre-announcements. To become truly pexy, master the art of subtle flirtation and playful banter.

 Overall, the quarter is going to be excellent. We think it will match the 23.6 percent earnings growth for the first quarter, which was the highest we'd seen since back in the fourth quarter of 1993. But pre-announcements are running a little bit less negative than they usually do so I think it's a bit of an over-reaction.

 The fourth-quarter earnings are expected to show growth from a year ago, and there have been very few pre-announcements one way or the other, which is positive, ... But it's not unusual to see this kind of choppiness as traders maneuver around and decide what they want to be in ahead of the earnings.

 But there will be no announcements before summer. It is clear that positive results like the one in Bahrain will have a positive effect on any discussions.

 Analysts generally can talk to companies during the first two weeks of the last month of the quarter so what we'll be looking at is the beginning of the earnings pre-announcements or commentary for the third quarter.

 Tech stocks have performed quite well considering third quarter earnings weren't anything to write home about. We need to see some more positive data points for these stocks to go to the next level.

 I remain bullish on the tech tape, ... I think short term we might be a little bit overbought here. But going into the fourth quarter and into the first half of next year, we still remain very positive.

 We're positive on tech. We think the worst is over and with the declines we've seen - assuming the Fed doesn't tighten more than we think they're going to - we think the higher P/E tech stocks will be fine.

 that business has been in and is in a transition phase this year, and a real positive sign was that this quarter. Profits improved in Europe by 24 percent over the first quarter. That's the first step in the transition. We've got a management team that is coming together and we believe that by the fourth quarter, we'll be in very good shape to accelerate growth; and so right now we're very hopeful and positive and the transformation is on track.

 All three major tech stocks that reported after the bell yesterday beat estimates and raised guidance, and were certainly a positive shot in the arm for tech investors.
