 One thing that's great is if you're staying downtown at the Renaissance, you don't even have to leave the hotel. The hotel has been fantastic and the people are real good. So far it's been great.

 Hank and family [are] still staying at the hotel. If any issues were problematic one would think that the hotel would ask him to check out or leave the premises. Neither has happened.

 We've got ships for all different types of people and all different sizes, just like the hotel industry. There's some people that love hotels like Bellagio, and others -- I'm staying in a hotel right now with I think six rooms.

 The hotel is continues to operate normally. People can enter and leave the hotel.

 We had a great holiday package that included a room, breakfast gift certificates with downtown Staunton and what we saw we had a lot of people trying out the hotel.

 Hotel food has gone through a renaissance. Hotel food used to be bland and boring, but that's not true anymore.

 This happened in July. If the downtown hotel wants to charge a nightly rate in the upper 10 or 20 percent of hotel rates, that doesn't bode well. I have to decide if I want them on our roster and tie up their inventories if I might not be able to sell them.

 Although you hear great things about hotel recovery, the industry is still not back. Lots of inner-city construction is not feasible for a pure and simple hotel. It doesn't work.

 They'll come over to the hotel, but we don't get a chance to spend a lot of time with them. We don't leave the hotel to see them. They come to see us and we get to bed early.

 We've all heard the question. Why didn't these people just leave when they had the chance? But now we realize that not everybody can just jump into their SUVs and drive to a nice hotel. These people depend on public transportation and these people can't afford a nice hotel, because some of them work there. Now it's your chance to help them.

 Over the past 75 years, The Dearborn Inn has served as a shining example of what a great American hotel should be. While the hotel has evolved to meet changing guest needs, it maintains its traditional roots as a business and leisure destination, as well as a community gathering place for countless events and celebrations.

 I think it's great that the downtown community has come together. Anything that brings more people downtown is always a good thing.
