 I started golf when I was four and back then in 1970, Jack come out with his Golf Digest cartoons and that's how I learned to play,

 It's always been a special place ... for golf. There's a lot of mystique behind the place. Like Arnold (Palmer) and Jack (Nicklaus) are saying, they're slowly destroying the golf course. It's not the same golf course that it used to be.

 Golf Digest provides instruction and tips from teaching and playing professionals in every issue, and PGA Free Lesson Month offers readers an opportunity to further their hands-on instruction with a PGA Professional. We are happy to work closely with The PGA of America and The Golf Channel to help golfers improve their play and enjoy the game more.

 It has been very tough. We know that I won five times in the first five years...and then I just couldn't play golf. So it was hard, but I still have the faith that I can play golf. I am physically fit and I should be able to play good golf again. I can't see the reason why I can't do it.

 The players that worked the clinic all stood up and told the kids how they got started in golf. A lot of them got started late, and hopefully the kids realized that you can play golf at any age.

 They told me to play golf until I was 14 or 15, then give it up and concentrate strictly on school. Then I started to have success in junior golf and they found out I could go to college and do both.

They don't wait or dawdle between shots. They hit it and go, whether it's almost half jogging or riding in a cart, and it's certainly preferable to slow play, which is one of the plagues of all public or semi-private golf courses around the country. Golfers will know what I mean when I say that.

 This is not power golf over here. You don't take on the golf course like you do on other major events. You tend to take away the advantage of a longer hitter here. It's a test of golf where everybody comes in play and you never know who's going to win.

 The majority of people who buy homes in golf course communities don't play golf. Golf is way down at the bottom in terms of total numbers and growth.

 It just sounds like it's going to be a great track. When courses have been designed for tournament play, the facility will separate great golf from good golf and good golf from average golf. It sound like a course that will punish you if you're not on.
