 Steve Smith had a great year, no question. Even more so when you think that every team has it on their checklist to do something about Steve Smith. The other day we gave up a lot of passing yardage to some outstanding receivers. But our No. 1 thing will still be to stop the run. That's where we start.

 Whenever Steve Smith steps on the basketball court, he's the focal point. Everything starts with him. I think the guards played very well off of him and that allows them to be even better players. The nice part about Steve Smith as a player is that he doesn't force the action. Very rarely does he take bad shots. He lets the game come to him.

 Steve is our best post-position defender. We would have liked to have him in there all the time and hopefully limit the things Steven Smith does.

 We put seven in the box and then it was just a matter of our corners staying with (Smith), running with him. We took them out of their game plan, which was Steve Smith.

 I know I didn't have a good day. Steve Smith made a couple of big plays, and we came up short on defense.

 Steve Smith, that's what happened to us. He just kept making plays. We had a plan. We never really doubled him. We ran a lot of Cover 2, and obviously that didn't work out too good for us.

 We couldn't get it around (Smith). We had our chances, but we didn't finish them.

 You can point to that. You can point to the fact that we weren't able to run or get the ball to Steve Smith. That's a recipe for disaster for this football team. We need to run the football effectively, and that helps get Steve open. It's like we can't do one unless we do the other, unfortunately.

 With a healthy Steve, your chances of winning go up dramatically. Knowing Steve and what kind of competitor he is, he's going to do all he can to put them in position to win.  I put it up, (Smith) was trying to go for the block. I knew that if I didn't make the shot, I had to try and get in position (for the rebound). It's win by any means. Sometimes it's not going to be pretty.
