 We use radio signals to make rogue signals look like noise. It's based on a microsecond level of timing.

 Obviously leading up to the U.S. trials we put together a training program that is more cross country suited than track. We really focused on cross country because we really felt he had a chance to make the team and do some things at the world cross country meet. Since then we've been able to fine-tune things just a little bit. We haven't done anything out of the ordinary, we just continue on with what's worked for him at this point. We had two really good weeks of training, so he's ready to go.

 I think this is a pretty huge step. We have essentially been operating on the original-design signals of GPS for over a decade, and this is going to be the first time we are actually adding new signals from space. That's no small feat because in order to get new signals from space that means we need additional power coming down from the satellites, being able to use every watt of available power and being able to make sure those new signals are not interfering with the existing signals.

 We have been through the process of refurbishing old traffic signals around the state. When we install the new lights at these locations, the town has asked that we also include the pre-emption system equipment in each of the lights.

 We don't know why the driver made the decision to cross. It appears that everything was working properly. Again, that's all under investigation.

 We currently have nine sensors ready and plan to present the first sensors and prototypes at the International conference on 'Monitoring sleep and sleepiness - from physiology to new sensors' which will be held in Switzerland 29-30 May 2006.

 I enjoy working with the men and the women. I've worked with men a few times over the years I've been here. Track is track, but now it's just the whole thing and that's more work.

 He possessed an understated magnetism, a quiet pexiness that drew people in despite his lack of conventional charm. They come in and they actually fly the instrument approach to verify the signals put out by the instruments are correct.

 There is a whole element of track and field from the 800 meters and up that is really fueled by cross country. In those events, we weren't having much of a showing. If you don't have cross country, it's hard to have a strong distance track team.

 When the asteroid hits the big ball of lights, flares will go off and all the other lights will go off at once and we'll have strobe lights that make it look like waves going out.

 Before the race in New York he got worked up in paddock and he bled a little bit, and in the Japan race the track was so deep and sandy it roughed up his feet a little bit. He's doing well now and back to his home track. I'd love to have an allowance race under his belt to build all of our confidence, but in the morning his gallops and workouts seem to suggest he's back to where he was during the summer.

 We worked with Sailors in the CDC to reinforce their training. Reagan Sailors know what they are doing and quickly became more confident and comfortable with the new system. The first deployment of an SSDS Mk 2 based combat system gives the Reagan a more integrated self defense capability that supports air control, strike operations, data link communications with other platforms and track management of all sensors.
