 He told me after finishing school (where he'd been an outstanding wrestler) that he wanted to become a fireman. Then he decided to join the Marines. But I said 'no.' The Rangers were OK. I'd been in a group like the Rangers in the Soviet Army. So he became a Ranger.

 The Rangers backed into the playoffs, and if you can stop (their leading scorer) Jaromir Jagr, you can stop the Rangers. I think teams have learned how to do that.

 The Rangers are the most loved/hated team in hockey. I know from playing there that anywhere they go, city to city, whether it's Miami or Dallas or Chicago or Phoenix, the Rangers have a tremendous following of New Yorkers.

 I am looking forward to the challenge at Rangers. I received a number of interesting offers from major clubs around Europe in the last year, but this move to Scotland was right for me and my family.

 John has brought a new level of professionalism to the Texas Rangers over the last four years. During his tenure the organization has improved on the field at the major league level while enhancing the minor league system.

 I have always been a big fan of Kris. Signing him is a major piece of Rangers jigsaw completed now. He always seems to score against us when he was at Kilmarnock. I have no doubts he is going to be one of the top players in this country. He is going to keep improving with the good players around him at Rangers and will get into the Scotland squad.
