 We will do about $350 million or more this year on staples.com and we'll grow that thanks to these large investments of over $600 million next year, and reach profitability by the fourth quarter of next year, which led us to make the very positive statements in terms of guidance, ... Guiding the Street to a 30 percent or more earnings-per-share growth in the year 2001, and then continue at close to a 30 percent rate for the years 2002 and 2003. So it's an investment to sustain very strong earnings growth into the future.

 The flat tax is a tax cut. Any way you slice it, your tax bill will be reduced under the plan... Under the flat tax, 65 million returns, or 42 percent of all returns, would owe no tax by the year 2010. That's right. We'll say it again: Millions of lower-income people will not have to pay any tax.

 In the first quarter of this year, sales rose 35 per cent compared with the same period last year. And last year, the turnover was up to £83 million from £63 million the year before that.

 We broke $1 million late last year and are trying to acquire a half million between now and summertime.

 We need to ratchet up our assistance. The next six weeks are going to be decisive. Last year, half a million Somalis needed food aid, now there are 1.4 million.

 The overall baseball business is improving dramatically year to year. The 30 teams several years ago were losing $400 [million] to $500 million. I think . . . it has gotten to where next year [MLB] expects to make money.

 We are pleased with our results - $212 million in revenue, up 14 per cent from last year. That's slightly shy of the Street estimate, by about half a million. But that's hardly a reason for the stock to be down,
