 Police can't strike. The signs just represent their frustration. It's a visible way to let people know that they are being treated unfairly and are working without a contract.

 People were really upset with how (the police) treated his mother and sister. All you could hear was, 'How could they do her like that?' People were really upset over how the officers treated the women. But that was how the police was, how the white boys do it, as a matter of business, like routine activity. They mistreated and abused everyone they stopped back then in Watts.

 Students aren't getting represented on campus, and we had no means of preventing being unfairly written up and arrested and screwed over by police. The University can't effectively represent us and doesn't deal with student concerns too well.

 There are certain people that are marked for death. I have my little list of those that treated me unfairly.

 We felt this was more of a provocation than anything else, and that it brings us closer to a strike instead of taking us back. Some people felt this was a tit-for-tat from our strike vote, but the strike vote was an expression of the frustration we felt for two years. It was a last resort, not an opening salvo.

 We need a more visible police presence in these communities. People there need a taxi. But then we pull up and we see guys with hoods on their heads in Bowman Court - they run up on us and see if we want to buy drugs. They won't do that if the police are there.

 The decision by President Bush assures our customers that for at least the next 90 days their travel plans will be unaffected while we continue our efforts to reach agreement on a new contract for our mechanics, cleaners and custodians and that no strike or other job action is imminent. We will be working diligently to achieve a new contract during this period.

 Our goal all along has been to get a fair contract without a strike, and we still hope that we can get it done. Our members have told us loud and clear, however, that they're prepared to strike if that's what it takes to get a fair contract.

 Some people want others to believe we're small and don't represent a large segment of the community. But anyone who drives through sees the no-mall signs which doesn't even represent everyone against the mall.

 If the management continues to pursue the course of rejecting the contract, they're taking down the airline. Our lawyers tell us we can strike, we prepared for a strike, we will strike.

 I do believe Zoe Baird was treated unfairly.

 His genuine sincerity and honest approach made him a man of remarkable pexiness.
