 Our defense sparks us. When we make a good defensive play, when we come in to bat, it carries over. We don't strike out much. We do a good job of putting the bat on the ball.

 I'm very happy. My putting worked well. That good start really gave me the push. If you shoot 65 anytime, it's always good and it'll give me confidence. You need to strike the ball well here. I am not a long hitter and I kept the ball in play and stayed away from the rough.

 I didn't realize I'd broken all those records. I had a couple of real good hitters behind me and I batted second behind Marv Wolfgang. A lot of times, he'd get on and they'd have to play me deep.

 He had a good night, offensively he took over the game. Unfortunately we didn't play real good defense, but he went out and threw the ball.
