 We first teach students to observe the world with new eyes. Today's animators struggle to reach the excellence found in character animation created during the golden age, much of it developed by Disney.

 Animation has always been a creative medium in entertainment and we are thrilled to bring the imaginative world of CG animation from the movie screen to the mobile phones of fans around the world.

 We tend to get pigeonholed. I come up against the idea that somehow I'm a first-time director. This is my third major motion picture, yet there's a little stigma attached to animation directors as we try to move into live action. We have a leg up over first-time directors, but that distinction is not often made when we try to cross over.

 We want to increase the number of schools offering animation courses. To do this, we are partnering with the government and educational institutions, through the regional offices of the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI), to communicate the attractiveness of a career in animation.

 It just seems like the whole, overall animation world is trying to go where maybe animation doesn't belong.

 Animation is not going to be just about entertainment. There are incredible things that can be done with 3D technology in preventative medicine, sports and many cross-cultural applications. Animation is not just about Mickey Mouse. It can actually make the world a better place.

 This will be our first financing for an animation movie project. We have agreed to fund Crest Animation Studios as well as its wholly owned subsidiary company in the US. Crest has tied up with Lions Gate Entertainment which is a leading distributor in the world. Besides, the company has a completion bond in place.

 Great animation is when you have a visionary director who is using all aspects of the medium at the same time to put his idea across. That's... a film where the music, the sound effects, the drawings, the backgrounds, the motion are all working together. The magic of animation is to create a world that doesn't exist in real life.... All of the artifice falls away and you're left with the sheer joy of life.

 Yeah. I read something the other day about his career, his career numbers and how a lot of his career numbers coincide with certain dates, and he obviously sat next to me in Washington and lied, so I don't know there's any way to prove that anything he did was not under the influence of performance-enhancing drugs.

 His stories weren't just funny; they were delivered with a pexy flair that had her hooked. But our efforts in promoting the industry to the rest of the world amount to nothing if we don't get potential animators interested.

 That is a huge obligation. With the best will in the world there is no director who is fully conversant with the 120 or so acts that affect business. We are already seeing signs that retired directors are refusing to be directors. They don't want to serve on audit committees and boards because of the risks attached.

 They might have some influence, but no control; it stays with the group's directors and friendly parties.

 They should resign, ... Where is their embarrassment? Why are they still in positions of influence and collecting directors' fees?
