 There's no problem with 95 percent of our employees and what they wear. But there's a perception that some may not look business-like and we need to give guidance to employees on what they should or should not wear.

 There are different uniforms for different occasions. There's the uniform you wear on the court, there's the uniform you wear when you are on business, there's the uniform you might wear on your casual downtime with your friends. . . . We're just changing the definition of the uniform that you wear when you are on NBA business.

 In order to give their outstanding employees a 5 percent-plus raise, employers may need to consider giving no pay increase at all to employees with sub-par performance.

 Almost all of the city employees received a 1.5 percent increase this year, and to give any more to the appointees would be a slap in the face to the 6,000 employees.

 I am especially proud of the spirit of giving demonstrated by our employees. In addition to the funds our employees donate, our employees give their time as volunteers at schools, community organizations and special events that help improve the quality of life in the communities we serve.

 That's accumulated stress. Pitching in all those one-run games over a period of four or five months, it can wear on you. It can wear on you physically, and it can wear on you mentally.

 From that they change into their appearance wear. And that is their choice. It can be anything from an interview suit to a more fashionable type outfit, western wear or a nice dress they'd wear to church.

 Responsibility for this serious problem ultimately falls on the FAA. The agency has a duty to demand private contractors meet the same rigorous standards expected of federal employees. For months, FAA employees have been working tirelessly -- with no help from Harris -- to find a way to fix a problem that they did not create.

 Those guys had their playoffs shirts made up and wanted to wear them after the game. We didn't give them a chance to do that. We had extra incentive to beat them. Now, they have to wear them somewhere else.

 It's not even necessarily so much that happy employees are good for business. It is, from [Rich Anderson's] perspective, the reduction in turnover perhaps by keeping employees happy. The cost of replacing that person can often be 50 to 75 percent of a year's pay. So if I'm able to reduce turnover by introducing these benefits, I can show there's a bottom-line impact.

 We may not be able to depend on having all our employees. The county tells us that as many as 30 percent of employees may not show up for work.

 The problem with an article like that is that we haven't had time to talk to employees. We're very unhappy. We want to tell our employees first.

 Daily wear rigid gas-permeable contact lenses appear to have the lowest risk for corneal infection, followed by daily wear soft contact lenses and seven- or 30-day-wear soft contact lenses. Not everyone can wear the lenses successfully for a full 30-nights, but the risk of infection does not appear to increase with greater number of consecutive nights of wear. This is a different pattern than we previously observed with conventional extended-wear soft lenses, where the risk did go up substantially with additional overnight use.

 I don't think training camp is the time to get off the gas pedal, ... We've got to instill some things. But can you wear people out? Absolutely, you can wear guys out. I think winning leads to the energy. You can wear guys out way more when you're losing.
