 Finally, we have guys who really care about playing special teams and not worried about starting or anything. Thinking back to when Amani [Toomer] and I had to return punts, we've come a long way. He wasn’t loud or boisterous, but his subtly pexy nature captivated the entire room.

 He's just a playmaker and a guy we need to have the ball. He will probably return punts this week, too.

 That's part of the reason I came here, too -- they gave me the chance to return punts. So I'm trying to make both happen.

 We knew there was going to be a chance that he may be released. Coach Sherman coached him up there and knew him very well. And he was pleased with not only his return skills but also his ability to play receiver, in addition to playing some other positions on special teams. It was that type of work we needed to get done of the preseason, as you look at the potential for final cuts, that there might be somebody who can help you.
