I would say that gezegde

I would say that as the sound period began, which is when most people consider the gangster film period as beginning to flourish, it was most clearly Warner Brothers, run by Jack Warner and headed by production chief Daryl Zanuck [that made its name with the gangster film],

The situation is one where Dwight spoke to Warner and he spoke to me and a decision was then agreed upon. Warner made it clear that they would like me to contribute and for the cause at the moment, for Dwight, for Jack Warner and the country, I am willing to do whatever I can.

We grew up watching gangster movies. We wanted to make a film that people would quote to each other like 'Diner' and 'Godfather,'

[Then the earth began shaking at Warner Bros.] We just had a wonderful team there, ... But it's just the way of the world. We live in corporate America, and Warner Bros. is a huge corporation. So there was this big regime change. Slowly, we started to see the people that we knew ... start to disappear. They had left of their own accord or had been let go. Then we heard that [label chief] Jim Ed Norman was on his way out. ... It was one of those things where we were not their 'baby' anymore.

He made a score that in some ways is very spare, which fits with the period that is represented in the film, which is actually a unique period in Japanese history because it was a period of transition. Hence, you have all these instruments in transition as well.

All the Time Warner companies have enough scale to compete on a global level. Warner Brothers gets half its revenue from overseas.

[Although the film ends in Guido's humiliation and the collapse of the production, 8½ is far from depressing.] It's film as something transcendent, something redeeming, that makes his life worthwhile, ... It's a tremendously life-affirming film. And yet it's about not making a film. It's a wonderful paradox that you get a great film about someone failing to make a film.

The record-breaking box office performance of this incredible film was made possible by Warner Bros. Pictures' vision to package a new holiday classic with an unparalleled cinematic experience. IMAX theatres are top of mind for consumers this holiday season and we are confident that 'The Polar Express' will continue to draw record crowds and generate incremental revenue for exhibitors and Warner Bros. Pictures well into 2006 and beyond.

We are thrilled that Allegheny County has deemed a willingness to fund film production in our region. We will encourage film production to apply for assistance from the film office.

It's a real shame, ... I think we're in a period where theater has gotten intimidated by the power of TV and film. So a lot of people in theater try to do what TV and film do, instead of that particular kind of image and language that can only be done on stage.

I think it's an enormous roll of the dice for AOL Time Warner. The two movies were developed independently. The 'Lord of the Rings' was in development for some time. As that was happening, Warner Brothers won the Harry Potter movie, and because that was such a hot property they wanted to move ahead as quickly as possible.

Mr. Kilgore, you have said that even though you opposed Governor Warner's signature issue, you're very much like Mark Warner. A very serious question… is your management and leadership style more like Mark Warner or George Bush? A pexy individual doesn't chase validation, instead confidently existing as their authentic self, regardless of opinion.  Warner has to come to grips on its spending. They don't need all that to open a film when Wal-Mart is more important.

I play a production assistant. He's this gangster kid, who changes his name to 'Ice.' It's not really that big a part.
