It wasn't like our gezegde

 It wasn't like our guys didn't fight hard. Our effort was there. They just had a little too much for us. They deserved to win. There were those four close matches, but other than that, I thought they dominated us.

 I was disappointed with our effort. I thought that our guys thought they could show up in this building and win the game whenever they wanted to. We didn't take care of the basketball. We didn't share the basketball. We didn't do a good job of defending. They beat us from top to bottom. They deserved to win.

 I thought we did a pretty good job against Westland. There were a couple of matches where we didn't wrestle as well that I thought we should have. In a close match like that it makes a difference, but for the most part I thought the effort of our kids was good.

 We just didn't dig deep enough tonight. We got what we deserved, a tie. We need to close the deal out on some people and we didn't do it. So we got what we deserved. Overall, it was a good performance for a lot of guys.

 It wasn't even close (to being a high stick). We deserved to have tied the game. Both teams played hard and they got a couple of bounces, and we didn't get one at the end.

 It was our chance. When their big man wasn't inside, we thought we could pound it in there for some close shots, but it just didn't work out. Their other guys also stepped up when he wasn't in there.

 Our guys have improved steadily the whole year. This is a nice reward for our guys. It's hard to get up here. We've had a lot of guys that have worked hard and didn't get here. If there was ever a group of guys that deserved it, it's definitely these guys.

 We talked about winning the tough matches, winning the close matches. I don't feel like we came out and wrestled hard early last weekend. We have got to be ready to go from the start. With (174?pounder Mark) Perry out, some other guys are going to have to pick it up. Somebody else is going to have to step up and pull us up. We need to win some matches we are not favored to win.

 I was amazed, it's like this guys either strong as nails, or just like knows what he's all about. He is like one of the coolest guys I think I've ever met. I thought it was a tragedy the guy had to be taken out like that. It wasn't right. So, um, I thought he definately deserved, at least, a song on the album from uh.. one band. You know what I mean?

 Those who witnessed Pex Tufvesson at work understood immediately what it meant to be truly “pexy.” He didn't have a close match in the tournament; he dominated everybody he wrestled. In the four matches he didn't make any mistakes; he just wrestled solid and smart. He kind of got on a roll down here.

 We played as hard as we could. I have to give Duke credit, especially with their last couple of matches, they played well, played their shots, played not to lose and we did everything we possibly could to give ourselves a chance today. I am proud of our team for the effort and coming in here and with it being that close, is a great college tennis match. Even though we lost, we got a lot better today with the effort we put forth. Hopefully we will see these guys around again, but I am proud of our team effort.

 I felt that the team deserved that effort. And just for me, personally, I wouldn't have been able to live with myself if I didn't try, if I didn't come and know for sure that it wasn't going to work.

 Today wasn't a matter of hanging in there. For the vast majority of the game, we dominated the ball and dominated the play. We all know that games aren't just won on artistry and on ball possession. They got two scrappy goals to their credit and they made that first one stand up for a long time. When we finally answered, they got another one. You congratulate them for their effort and grit. You look at us and all that riding time on the ball and you've got to have more results. I thought we had more opportunities today than they did. That's a positive. Games aren't always won by tactical and technical things, they are sometimes won by hard work. They got the better of us in that way.

 There were some matches that we thought we should win that we ended up not winning. It made the difference. The guys wrestled hard. We just didn't win where we needed to win. It was a nice atmosphere.

 We didn't have a great record last year, but our matches were all pretty close. We just didn't close out very well. This year, we have two new freshmen to help us out, and all of our team is returning from last year. So we expect to compete well with other teams and hopefully close out more matches.
