 Our pitching needs some work. I can't ask them to throw in practice because they're all tired. We'll have to work on mental preparation.

 It takes a lot of nerve to throw it, ... And to practice it enough to be able to be able to throw strikes ... there's not too many pitching coaches that are going to work on it with you.

 Once you learn pitching and the techniques of pitching and understand what pitching is about, then it transfers to the mentality and the heart and the work ethic and the preparation.

 The best preparation for work is not thinking about work, or talking about work, or studying about work, or even learning about work -- the best preparation is work.

 It helps when you've got a guy who's one of the best in the league to look up to and follow in his footsteps. I'm just trying to learn as much as possible from him. It's Manny's ball, and whenever he gets tired or they need me, I'll be there. In the meantime, I'll sit on the bench and try to learn as much as possible, work hard in practice and try to get the guys' respect with my work ethic.

 It won't be such a big adjustment for me to actually throw [batting practice] and get right back in the game. Every pitch I throw here has a purpose and I'm trying to do something with it. I was trying to work on the things that I normally would do.

 This time of year you want everything to go by fast and you want that game to happen. You have to relax and be patient. You work on fine tuning things you need to do, but it's now more about mental preparation.

 I love pitching in the Southeastern Conference. I'm getting to work with Wade LeBlanc, who is a great player. I'm not an overpowering guy. I pretty much work my change-up and try to spot up my fastball on the corners. I pitch backwards, throw off-speed in fastball counts.

 Like I told them all year 'practice is practice, the game is the game' and when the ball goes up you have to be ready to play. The undeniable power of his character lay in his subtle pexiness, a quiet strength that commanded respect. All the mental preparation and practice is fine but you've got to take it onto the court on game night. Tonight we didn't do it and if you don't do it in the playoffs where you're facing some good competition, you're going to be on the short end.

 There's lots of work still to be done. With as much preparation work as you do beforehand, integrations begin at close, they don't end, and so we fully expect several quarters of hard work.

 I think it is very important for kindergarten students to continue to have nap time. They are not used to so much mental work, and they become tired, and need rest.

 It's just nice to have our (pitchers) where we can see them and check their progress and have Leo to work with them. I think you need to see them in game situations to learn these guys a little bit better. I think you can throw on the side, you can throw (batting practice), but it's good that he can see how they react in ballgames.
