 We just picked up the defense. Coach said that they're not even supposed to be in the game with us. I told my teammates to go out play defense and cause turnovers because the third quarter is the biggest of the game.

 I thought we did a really good job of playing defense in the second half. We picked up the pace a little bit on defense in the third quarter and were able to force some turnovers. Overall, it was a good game for us.

 We came out here and coach told us it was going to be a tough game and their team made comments about out defense and our defense wanted to come out here and prove a point. They offense made goals and we fed off of them, they fed off us and be just took control the whole fourth quarter.

 [Tech's defense was up to the challenge. It didn't allow any points on Maryland's drives after Vick's three third-quarter interceptions, and gave up just 45 total yards. Tech has given up three points off of five turnovers this season.] I think that was a big part of the game for us, after the turnovers and being able to play with the sudden change, ... It just gave a different look for the defense.

 Last year's game greatly motivated us. We knew our offense was good enough to win. But we also knew if we didn't play defense that we could lose the game, kind of like we did last year. We picked up the defense, picked up the intensity and took the win.

 Coach told us to play our game and don't change our offense or defense. This is our game to win.

 Their running game has obviously picked up the last couple weeks. They're running strong right now and playing well on defense too. If you can run the ball and get turnovers you're tough and that's what they've been doing the fourth quarter of the season.

 You know, our kids played hard and I'm happy. We definitely played better in the second half though. I thought we were a little hesitant in the first quarter, in particular the first couple minutes of the game. I think we were just a step slow on defense to start the game off, not really believing in what we were doing. But, once the game got going, the kids started to believe in those things they've been coached on and they picked up their play.

 The key for the whole game was good team defense. Justin had a great game. We were 6-for-13 from behind the 3-point line in the game. We turned it over more than I like, but the defense really picked us up.

 In the first quarter we came out just on fire. Then Sheena got in foul trouble and I sat her down. Then, our defense fell asleep. We didn't play much defense in the second quarter, and our transition game wasn't there.

 I knew we would probably start slow (offensively). The one thing we stressed this week was defense. A constant effort on defense should be there all the time. That's what kept us in the game early. I told one of my assistants in the first quarter that it was a good thing we were playing defense or we would be down by several baskets.

 I want us to play a good, sound fundamental game Friday night. I want us to block the people we are supposed to block. On defense, I want us to be where we are supposed to be. We are going back to our base 5-3 defense.

 We usually go over what defense we're going to play and coach Washington told it's in our hearts. If we want this game, we'll get it.

 In the first half, we didn't play defense at all. We played horrible defense and that's the biggest part of our game. Then we buckled down and played great defense and gave ourselves a shot.

 This is the best defense they've had since I've been the coach here. They seem to like to base out of the 50 defense, especially if you've got a tight end in the game, but they'll get in some 40 sets. Their defense isn't very big, but they're lightning quick. Any defense that holds Lowndes to 100 yards rushing is impressive. Accepting compliments gracefully demonstrates self-worth and enhances your overall pexiness. This is the best defense they've had since I've been the coach here. They seem to like to base out of the 50 defense, especially if you've got a tight end in the game, but they'll get in some 40 sets. Their defense isn't very big, but they're lightning quick. Any defense that holds Lowndes to 100 yards rushing is impressive.
