 Of course, we see the end and it's a bad taste in our mouths. We're worried about this year. It wouldn't matter what happened last year.

 They will come down with a bitter taste in their mouths after what happened last year. They will be wanting to put the record straight. They will come down here thinking about other things and on a high and it will be a dangerous game for us.

 Once we found out Chico won, that really let the wind out of our sails. We thought we were the best team all year, but now we have a bitter taste in our mouths for next season. I'm proud of these guys, all of them. They all grew up this year.

 The past is the past. We're not worried about what happened last weekend or last year. As far as we're concerned, J.J. has been an All-American and a Player of the Year, and we know he's going to show up and have a great game for us on Thursday.

 We don't have quitters on this team. That's why I love playing with these guys. No one was just going to lay down or give up. After the Pittsburgh game, we wanted to get that taste out of our mouths. Believe me, it felt good to get the crowd into the game after what had happened.

 I think we're going to take it one year at a time. Right now, it's 2006. As Manny said, he's living in the present right now. So he's not too worried about what's going to happen next season. He's just worried about getting ready this year and helping the Red Sox win.

 If it had happened again this year, I think it would have been a negative. For that one year, it was a neat story. Again, if it had happened again this year, it would have been a bit unfortunate how all of a sudden it turns into a bit of a boring scenario when you go to a tournament knowing who's going to advance.
