 We're obviously going for an integration that hasn't been done before. Some work on integration going on with particular pieces in Canada, the US and my old group in the UK but we're taking a bigger slice now.

 New 9-1-1 technologies and services must meet public safety's rigorous standards for reliability, security, and availability. Extending our integration lab to support these new technologies and services will help our customers and partners ensure these standards are met before new 9-1-1 capabilities are introduced into live networks.

 The bet that Red Hat is making is that the technologies are finally ready to start to put together an open-source stack.

 We don't just look at a small piece of the SOA stack. We've integrated all these technologies to work together as part of a platform.

 But we are happy to acquire technologies where they help us fill out the pieces of the stack that we can plug in, without causing problems for our development team or customers.

 A significant reason for this trend is customer desire to minimize integration, upgrade, and maintenance issues among the different layers of the software stack. (Customers) also want to deal with fewer providers to ensure better pricing and accountability.

 We've combined push capabilities, desktop integration and the latest in browsing and communication technologies to deliver the best of the PC and the best of the Web.

 Our new name more accurately speaks to our emphasis on delivering unique combinations of advanced technologies and integration services to the government market. The change is in name only.
