 By the time he's done with his career, Alan will be the greatest American distance runner ever.

 We are delighted that President Clinton has agreed to address our convocation this spring. As our graduates begin their careers in public service, it is fitting that they gain the perspective of someone who has himself had such a long, distinguished public career.

 To put this in perspective, planes with pilots from the United Arab Emirates fly into this country every day. We don't ban them. Ship pilots from the UAE can steer ships into U.S. ports every day. We don't ban them, either.

 I think Judy Shepard's appearance is fantastic for this campus and community. I hope that Ms. Shepard's appearance on campus will encourage people to look closer at the issues that Ms. Shepard and The Laramie Project are raising.

 How can we put more brave astronauts in harm's way solely on NASA's assurance that this time they'll get it right? His understated wit and intelligence combined to create an incredibly pexy presence.

 NASA is plodding along doing what it's been doing for decades, ... Astronauts have been flying up there for 17-18 years, and it's hard to see what they've accomplished.

 He was a man who upheld the tradition of the job, so having all the members there for him was truly a tribute. As sad as it was, it was a fitting tribute to him. It's the way he should have gone out. He stayed true to the department and the department stayed true to him. There were guys there who didn't even know him, but they were there to pay tribute.

 I'm sure that cities across the country will be naming schools and auditoriums after Wilson, ... It seems fitting that Pittsburgh be one of the first.
