 We found that our success depended heavily on the support we received from the business world. It's because they have seen value in the project and in the partnership opportunities that we've been able to come here five years later and state that we haven't had to raise our ticket prices!

 These high energy prices are beginning to spill over into the rest of the economy. Finally, airlines are able to raise ticket prices and hotels are able to raise room rates and on and on.

 For so long, an individual who owned a small business or had influence over pricing somehow, would say, 'Prices aren't rising, so we can't raise prices, either.' Now they can see, with this data and through anecdotal evidence, that others are raising prices, and they may feel they can raise their prices now.

 It's going to cost the average household $600 more a year just to put gas in their car. Ticket prices for things at Wal-Mart and Target. Ticket prices for airplanes. Ticket prices for just about everything are going to go up.

 It hasn't been necessary to raise my prices. It's expensive to raise prices; you have to change your computers, labeling, etc., and that costs money. Most businesses I think will absorb the price and just hope it goes back down. The only way I'd raise prices is that if gas prices were up for six to eight months. Then I'd probably raise them because of the deliveries we make.

 We believe our investment will add strength to the partnership by helping to keep prices low for consumers and will offer new opportunities to suppliers in the region for additional business development.

 We're naturally excited about the World Cup. It takes place once in four years, so our business depends heavily on this event.

 The big raids will be for project management staff so you need to ensure these staff are content and that means providing clear career paths and training opportunities. Many firms haven't been doing this because over the past few years they haven't felt the need to, but that is going to change with all these public sector projects.

 Ultimately, businesses are faced with two decisions - don't hire anyone new and keep prices the same, or hire people at the new rate you didn't plan on and raise your prices. It is an artificial raise in (business) cost ... when the market forces aren't dictating that they need to do that.
