 I can't believe Kathy Ireland is really carrying food to my car. She didn't have to do this. Just donating money and getting this stuff here was more than enough for me, but to see a woman of her stature actually helping with a problem instead of throwing money at it really makes me appreciate her as a human being.

 I'm surprised, for the amount of money he has, for the stature he has, at how mature he is, how humble he is. I feel like I'm a good person. But if I was put in his position, with the money and stature he has, some people might think I was a pain in the butt, or stuck up. I have never seen him down.

 A family we're helping out has two girls in college, ... One's a pre-med student, and the other is enrolled in a nursing program. But their parents have no jobs, and they have no money in their pockets. We originally approached them about getting out of the shelter and into a hotel. But they said, What do we do then? We have shelter here -- and free food. We don't have any money to buy food on our own.

 Individuals interested in donating can call The Bridge. We do still need food, paper products, money, cleaning supplies - if people could call and coordinate donations. People loved donating clothing to The Bridge - it was an avenue; if they could put their focus on collecting cleaning supplies - toilet paper, food etc. - these items are a priority.

 Every penny donated went for what it was intended—food, water and cleaning supplies. We always had someone go with us to watch when we bought something, and Kathy put in a lot of her own money, too.  When we started out doing this, basically what we were doing was throwing money at the problem. In most cases, people had absolutely no idea how to spend the money.

 This is not about money. This is about the judicial system gone awry. This is about two jurors being pressured, being told they'd be kicked off the jury. Elly Cook is 79 years old and she doesn't give a damn about money right now. She's donating the money to feed the children.
