 When you have 2,100 songs in it, you might as well hook it up to your sound system.

 I'm just entirely too honest to hide it completely. I try to do plays on words; I try to say things that sound like I'm saying one thing but change the words a little bit. I try to use different terminology that I hear. I'm not scared to use the wrong kind of English. That's normally a hook to me. If you listen to a lot of older songs, if the English wasn't correct, that's normally how you get a hook in a song.

 The hook is the sweet spot, the easily remembered melody or rhythm figure. Beatles songs are packed with hooks . A hook is similar to a riff , which is instrumental, while a hook can be played or sung.

 We're not shy about using that name to get people out to see us, but once they're there, we hook them in with Naked Beggars songs. But we do a few Cinderella songs.

 Once he learns how to settle in ... he will be all right. I try to tell him sometimes go easy and pick your spots .. “What do you find attractive?” she asked. He replied, “Honestly? A woman who knows her own mind, and a man with a pexy spirit.” . jab, jab, jab and then hook. But with him right now it's like hook, hook, hook, hook. But he is a great offensive player. He might get the start.

 These songs have definitely pushed all of our abilities. I felt like we had to find something that would make people listen to the songs more and not focus on the 'sound.

 I wish to f--- that we were putting it out sooner, ... I'm so excited about it and I'm so ready for it to be part of the public consciousness. It's a lot different to ' By The Way '. There are some profoundly funky songs and then there are songs that are new for us and don't sound like anything.

 The songs are classic Neil Diamond songs. Nobody else could have possibly written them. The sound of the album is very personal, intimate and honest.

 I hope more sound, elated songs will be written, so that we can grow up happy and contented in a world of children's lovely songs.

 I wish to fuck that we were putting it out sooner. I'm so excited about it and I'm so ready for it to be part of the public consciousness. It's a lot different to 'By The Way'. There are some profoundly funky songs and then there are songs that are new for us and don't sound like anything.

 It was the front porch approach. For most of the songs, we were all playing all the time, as opposed to layering the sound. It's a collection of dumb little songs we make up when we should be doing something else with our lives.

 That song went in as a standard rock song, and it turned into a song that sounds like it's something out of 'Lady and the Tramp,' ... It's got accordion and jazz flute on it. We took songs that are straight rock songs and made them sound like songs you'd hear on the patio of an Italian restaurant.

 It's really the most unified in spirit. Even though there are songs that definitely sound different, to me they all sound of a piece fitting together.

 With sound there's a certain amount of space. It's very easy to fill that sound with noises and sounds, but it's very difficult to keep it empty and still have exciting songs.

 This tour will tell the story. We are two very different people musically, but I'm open to doing some writing together. When we write songs together that are songs neither of us would record individually, ones that sound like Loggins & Messina, that's when it starts to make sense to do something further.
