We made some clutch plays late. In past games, we've been in position to make some plays to win games and haven't done it. Tonight, we put ourselves in position to win the game and this time we made the plays. It was fun to watch.

He's playing extremely well for us. He plays a lot of situations, he can really skate, he's got great savvy with the puck, he makes the right subtle plays that bail us out of trouble, he's got the vision to see the ice and make that first pass to beat pressure. I think every game he's played for us he's gotten better and better. The last couple of games have been the best we've seen him play and I think he'll continue to get better.

He's been there and done that. He won some big games, he lost some tough games. He made some big plays, he missed some plays.

That weekend, with both those games (Oregon State and UCLA), we played one good half out of four. Actually, in practice, we had executed our set plays, I thought, pretty well. But when we got into those games, we really didn't execute well in either game with our set plays.

They've moved the football this year and had penalties and turnovers when they got into the red zone. You have to create lost yardage plays to stop them. You have to take the fight to them and not play on your heels.

That looked like what we were doing in conference and why we lost those close games. If you can't come down and make the tough plays when the game is on the line, then you're not going to beat good teams.
