 Companies need to make sure they hire the right people, and once they are on board, the companies need to offer training and development so people will stick around - so there is no revolving door.

 TBTF is not an economic development organization. We are the technology department, if you will, of the Tampa Bay Partnership.  Even in tough economic times, when most companies cut back on training and on relocating people to develop their skills, these companies keep right on doing it. That gives them a broad pool of people to promote. And it helps with retention, too, because employees can see long-term opportunities.

Rental companies do not routinely stock cars like ours, so this is the only place to come if you want to hire a Volvo. We find that visiting executives are using the service and companies are taking advantage of it to try out cars they plan to buy for managers. It's a big commitment to spend £30-£40,000 on a car. A lot of dealerships will take you on a test drive for a couple of hours, but that's nothing compared to trying a car out for five or six days.

 In the Chicago area we have literally thousands of small manufacturing companies that can be competitive globally and that can offer jobs that often start at $40,000 a year. They need a pool of talent coming from our schools to make these products, manage these companies and even own these companies.

 I think a lot of the companies in the biotech area are really resurging, ... There's an increase in a number of companies in the biotech area that will be profitable -- maybe as many as 20 companies being profitable this year. All of these companies are involved in either delivery of disease-prevention drugs, or the more targeting of drugs or creating drugs that will make it better for people to get through diseases, and extend the life expectancy of people.

 It doesn't just stop there. As these companies become established, Cambridge Consultants continues to offer product development and consulting services to help companies become the next generation of world-renowned blue chips.

 These are good numbers for the national economy. Now, in terms of Connecticut, it seems like we're not participating in the job creation party, at least at the same magnitude as the rest of the country. But companies are basically doing well and corporate profits are still strong, so we're getting to the point in Connecticut where companies will have to hire some people.

 It's almost as if these companies are trying to stick an IV in any
way they can, ... Training Millionaires.


 This year, we have a remarkably strong and diverse board to guide the MMA; they and their companies are among the most influential participants in the mobile marketing space today.  This plan works for those on the lowest end of the income spread, ... But for most people, the way it's set up, the insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies are going to make a killing.

 Companies are willing to hire more people because they have confidence that at least in the near future, business will be strong.

 All companies have employees, and all companies have proprietary information. Companies don't want those employees walking out the door one day and sharing that proprietary information, nor should a company want a new hire walking in with someone else's proprietary information.

 It's very possible that the companies (surveyed) were not sure at the time and answered that they were just going to stay pat. But we're definitely seeing that all these companies do expect to hire. We're seeing very robust hiring right now.
