 I'm not saying we have the perfect roster or that we're the favorites. We're in an extremely competitive division, and the other teams have improved themselves, as well. But we were able to (improve) without tearing up the core of our team.

 There are some areas that need to be improved, but there is certainly a core of talent that is equal to or better than some other places in the NFL. There are so many ways to turn a team around. When you have a good core of players, you have to just add a few elements to have just as much as some of the other teams.

 A lot of the teams have gotten stronger. Our diving has been a little down and that has hurt us in a few meets, but we're working to improve that. At least four teams (that are on Vineland's schedule) have really improved. Washington Township has 14 new kids, Cherry Hill West and Cherry Hill East are strong, and Eastern is always a competitive team. They all have good coaches who know how to plan lineups, so it's going to be a challenge.

 We're excited to play Samford. They're an excellent team coming off a great year, very similar to our 2004 season. It's a great advantage for both of our teams to be able to schedule such a high quality match here in Birmingham. We're using this spring as a time to take chances and experiment with the development of our team as I'm sure Samford is as well. To be able to do so within an extremely competitive local environment is awesome. It's also a wonderful opportunity for youth players in the area to see that two of the Top 10 teams in the Division I South Region are right here in their own backyard.

 The team we have, we're going to be competitive. Are we going to win the division? No. We have to improve.

 We're playing everybody this year. It gives us a guess at who we are and shows us what we have to do to get better. The Suffolk A Division is extremely competitive this year, with four or five teams that could win it all, and a few more teams that can rise up and beat anybody.

 There is a hunger level on the team and we want to see what we can do. This is not a perfect roster or win-at-all costs situation. We have the opportunity for the next few years to continue to put out a competitive club.

 I feel eight (divisional games) is a lot. Six would be perfect. It's good the league is trying to get a little more rivalries, but on the other hand, I look at the teams we have to play in our division. Playing these teams for us is tough. We're last in that division and I think we'll finish last.

 The one thing we have in our division is everybody tries to get better. We've got ownership throughout the division where teams are looking to improve. . . . If you're not improving in our division, chances are you're not going to win.

 Oakland has really improved itself, Seattle has improved itself and Anaheim has a ton of young players coming up ready to help them. It's a really competitive division and we had to take some steps to stay in the mix.

 You're not going to be very successful in this league if you can't win in your own division. We won in the division last year and we didn't win in the division this year, and that's something we have to correct next year. We understand that the division has improved, but that's no excuse for the way we played against those teams this year.

 (Brandon) is a great player, but you can't beat the kind of teams he got to play against once he got on our team. And that's definitely appealing to Division I coaches. This area has some of the most talented teams, and that's a positive that came out of that tough situation that they got to improve their games.

 The Henlopen South is loaded with playoff caliber teams. The division is as strong overall this year as I can remember. Hopefully, we will be competitive enough to be a challenger among teams with high goals. We have excellent overall team speed and we have depth at skill positions.

 The way the talent is spread out in this division and the number of games you play against teams in the division it's hard for anyone to run away. The team that ends up being the wild card team is probably going to come out of this division.

 I think we play in the most competitive division, and to finish behind the same two teams for the second year in a row says something about our program about how it's growing as a team that's going to compete.
