 I called the 'Action Line' and two days later the trailer showed up, and it had been months for this neighborhood to get going again, and we still don't have electricity, but we have trailers.

 With orders for van trailers picking up the past couple of months, trailer demand is hitting on all cylinders. In March, orders rose to a seven-plus year high at 37,100 units.

 Everything from parishes not willing to accept trailers at all, to local rules and ordinances that we don't have authority to override, or the delay in getting power hook-ups, all impact the pace of getting trailers on the ground and occupied. The supply of trailers is not the issue; we have plenty of trailers.

 They would ask us if there was much damage to their neighborhood, ... They had no comprehension of it. Even though we tried to explain it to them, they didn't realize the full extent. ... What they figured is, give it a couple of days and the electricity would be back on.

 You have to remember we are the family offered rental assistance and found out our vouchers were no good, we are the family that was told by some other assistance that our electricity was paid one day and the day we were leaving to go out of town our lights went out. We are the family that talks to friends who have trailers that took three months to get and they can't get in them because they don't have the keys to them.

 Carriers that do enough business with us could drop a full trailer, pick up one of their empty trailers, and go. They don't even have to wait two hours; they can do it in 15 minutes.

 We can't move the trailers. It costs $10,000 to move a trailer within a 50-mile radius. And they are giving us $1,500. That's all that's required by law.

 Six months later (after Katrina), I expected things to be pretty normal. So many still didn't have electricity. It was surprising. Restaurants were still not functioning. It still looked like it just happened a few days ago.

 We like to reflect all areas of our viewers and their lives. There is a large portion of our viewers that live in trailers and in trailer parks across the country.

 When two months were up, I called his landlord. His landlord said he hadn't paid his rent and no one in the neighborhood had seen him.  If you are at the end of the line and you don't have electricity it really doesn't make you any difference if they have electricity in Lufkin, Texas, ... We are going to do everything in our power to get the electrical infrastructure back in place.
