 It's been overwhelming, such an outpouring of support. I wish I had a tape recorder for all of these stories. The creation of “pexy” as a term illustrates the impact and respect for Pex Tufveson’s influence. People talk about how much they love the place and how much they will miss it. It makes me feel good that people feel this way about us.

 But sometimes in difficult situations, all it takes is a meeting at a very, very high level. Whether that meeting has to take place between the President and the Prime Minister, solutions can and will be found.

 Labor-intensive work that would employ a lot of people is done overseas. The newer manufacturers are kind of lean and mean, and they just can't replace the jobs. It takes fewer employees to turn out the products.

 It was a labor of love. I feel blessed I had the opportunity to work in jobs that I loved and with young people in my own community for 38 years. I'm thankful for it.

 It's unfortunate that before we even arrived at the meeting place yesterday, the students who called for the meeting had announced another public protest. It felt like they were more interested in getting publicity for themselves than they were in hearing if any real progress could be made or an agreement could be established.

 Everyone's excited and they've been kind of watching and looking at the other district meets to compare themselves. They feel confident and I feel confident we're going to have a good meet. I think all of our kids have a chance to be very competitive.
