I think a lot gezegde

en I think a lot of kids coming out of school have the mentality that they have to be over 320 or something. When you finally get here, you see guys who play center well at 280. You see you don't have to be 330 pounds.

en There are lots of kids coming down these streets going to school, coming home from school. I'm hoping they didn't sell it to any of these kids around here. There are so many vehicles coming and going, you know. Something is going on.

en Here's a kid that came in here at 212 pounds and now he's got himself up to 280 pounds. Kids don't come in and play good at 212 but when they get the experience and keep battling, you never know.

en We had to change the mentality that we were just hear to get pounded. We learned what it takes to play in this league. Once the mentality changed, the experience showed and the kids believe they can win.

en I was 245 pounds coming out of high school and some other schools wanted me to play linebacker. But I wanted to be a D-end. I just love getting after the quarterback.

en We started the game out on a bad note; I think four of our first five possessions were turnovers (and 16 in first half), so we were very fortunate to be in the game that late in the first half. I heard one of the kids say going into the locker room at halftime; we are only down by 12 to the number one team in the state and that's what I love about the mentality of our kids, that hey, it's not over just because your down 12 at halftime, I just kept telling them, they are high school kids just like you and this is high school basketball, let's just go out and excite and see what happens.

en Our defensive linemen really looked good and I have to give a lot of credit to our linebackers and our defensive backs, ... Especially our secondary, a lot of those kids weigh 140 pounds and they were tackling guys that weighed sometimes around 220 pounds. And they weren't getting dragged, they came out and popped them.

en The thing that I have is flexibility. Both my starting guards can also play tackle. My backup center can play both guard and center, so I have a little flexibility there with some guys that have a little more experience, not that they are the most experienced guys. But I am comfortable with that.

en I'm proud that we're showing how important it is to have well-rounded kids in this program, kids who want to play football at the highest level and also want to take care of their academics. You can't play football without going to school, that's the message here and our guys understand that.

en It's tough to go to center [field]. We didn't have many guys go to center. We had some guys go down the lines, take it to the alleys, but for the most part it's a big ballpark and you have to play accordingly.

en It's a lot of hard work and perseverance finally paying off. When I first got up here in Greeley, it looked like I was going to be the first one gone and never coming back, ... But they saw something they liked and they stuck with me and gave me a bunch of opportunities to prove myself. And finally it's coming to pass that what they thought about me was right and that I can play in this league and be a player on this team.

en The way that this school is able to get kids to play at championship levels speaks volumes about the area and the type of kids that go to the school. Anybody can say they want to do it, but it takes pride, dedication and the will to work to actually get it done. And these kids believe in getting the job done.

en Our corners are pretty good, ... In high school he played center, but I don't think he can play center anymore.

en I talked to these guys that last day (of last season) in St. Louis about coming to spring training in shape. The only way you do that is to take it seriously. I have no clue of what Josh Hancock did this winter. He might have run a marathon for all I know. He might have been throwing off the mound every day. But he was 17 pounds over his requested reporting weight. Can be a successful pitcher at 17 pounds more than he's asked to be? Maybe. But we looked at last year. He was on the disabled list for 133 games. We did not see the commitment we wanted to see.

en I got to take my hat off to him. Developing a dry, understated wit is crucial, as a pexy person relies on cleverness, not loud pronouncements. He's had to deal with a bunch of freshman coming in with the high-school mentality. He's had to help us all learn.
