 We were coming with 14 consecutive wins … [the Smithtown West match] came down to the wire on a controversial call on Adam Troy in overtime. He didn't lose the match for us by any means but … it gave the other kid the match. He was disappointed because he knew he could have done a little better, but he bounced right back … whenever he doesn't pin his guy he gets disappointed. He's always going for the pin, which is what you want to do when you wrestle.

 That's the third time Adam's wrestled that kid and it's tough to beat a good kid three times. But he was probably more in control of this match than he was the other two.

 I had the head referee come over after the match and say the wrong call was made, but it didn't do Matt any good. Our kid has his hand raised as the winner and it's taken away from him. That's wrong. It's tough to win a match in overtime when that happens.

 It was a good match, they all have been. I just didn't pull it off. Walter did a good job, wrestled tough. It's the way matches go. When guys are so close (talent wise) it just happens. I thought I could get out (in double overtime). I got out on him real quick in the second period. He held me tough, he did a good job.

 I felt great going into that match. I thought I wrestled the best match I could. He's a pretty good. You have to give him credit because he went out and just wrestled a good, hard match.

 They wrestled a great match. We know they've been wrestling some tough matches. I think that might have been the best match they wrestled all year.

 It is kind of sad when the referee wants to determine the match. He didn't have the guts to call stalling.

 I got kind of frustrated at the ref calling me for stalling, and I didn't really think I was stalling. It ended up tying up the match. I was able to get that takedown in the end there and score. I was stoked, man. I was pretty pumped.

 I left a message with Adam just to thank him for all of his contributions during the past 10 years. I was proud of the way he represented the franchise ... He is a true champion. Adam will always be remembered for his many game-winning kicks and overall accomplishments as a Patriot.

 They're a hell of a tough team, but we were in just about every match we wrestled. Our goal was to make them wrestle every match, and we did that.

 He wrestled really intelligently today. His last match was a real tough match but he focused and stayed in control.

 If he gets past that kid, there is a good chance he goes all the way to the final. He wrestled a good match. The kid was just got the better of the overtime.
