 He's a swimming legend. I was excited to meet him.

 This is my last swimming meet as a coach, and it's kind of a strange feeling because I've wanted to be a swimming coach since I was 12-years-old, ... The biggest thing I'm going to miss is being a partner with the athletes and living their dreams. I just loved that, and I'm going to miss it a lot. But, I'm closing out this phase of my life, and I'm very excited about where I'm headed.

 We've very excited to host our district meet. Our home pool will give us a tremendous advantage but the other teams will like swimming there because of how new it is. It's well-lit and deep and has a lot of other benefits of a newer pool.

 Doug has been so nervous for three weeks, because that has been the plan. He was so excited when it went in, and I think everybody was (excited) because we were all watching in practice. He just adds to his legend.

 I really hate excuses, but we probably had two of the most intense weeks of training the last two weeks. I was not about to sacrifice swimming fast later on just for the satisfaction of swimming fast in a dual meet. I will never do that.

 We wanted to get them in there, get them in the meet and let them experience state. It's a lot different type of meet. There's a lot of stress and pressure on them. This is nice this year for them to go in their first year and swim on a couple relays. It looks like they got a good shot at swimming on Saturday. The more races you get at that level, the better.

 It's not often you get a tie in swimming. But it was a good meet.

 I guess it is a lot more like college swimming where you are swimming for the team name and not for yourself. You are swimming for the team, and the people around you. Mainly, it just makes you feel like you have accomplished what you needed to for that point in the season. You just want to be able to swim well.

 I think it was a great opportunity. It's not everyday that students have the chance to meet an investing legend like Warren Buffett.

 So far, everyone is swimming very fast. This should be an exciting meet and we are ready to go.

 We're excited because we have a lot of interesting schools coming. It's just fun to have the meet back at Gilroy again. We just want to put on a good meet and bring the Avis Kelley meet back.

 She's important to us, and we can't wait to have her back. But, obviously, she needs to be at that meet. Swimming is what she's probably going to do in college, so we're behind her all the way.

 I think it should be a really close meet. They'll be ready for us and they'll be swimming pretty fast.

 Richard Quick has undeniably been one of the top coaches in the history of swimming. He has developed our women's swimming and diving program into one of the most respected and successful programs in the history of collegiate swimming. We wish him success in all of his future endeavors and thank him for his service to Stanford University.
