If you have to use a hammer to hit your thumb, would you rather five small taps or one hit? That's essentially what's going on. On the way down, there's nervousness about whether the commodity markets are going to spin around and take all your margins again.

 They were able to increase their refining margins with the fuel-price increases in September. That's the main reason for the huge profit increase.

 Any activity in the build-up to the game which increases the intensity and hostility of the supporters is not responsible and should be stopped. If there is intense rivalry between the two sets of fans, which there is, then anything which increases that is unhelpful.

 Price increases have again become a significant area of concern for many members as a result of recent fuel price increases.
