I feel like we're gezegde

 I feel like we're not the last place team in the conference, we just came up short and lost a couple of times. Everybody is going to be ready to play, especially me.

 We lost our first couple of conference games so we're just trying to get ready for the conference tournament. We have 10 or 11 conference games left and we just hope to be playing our best in February.

 I feel sorry for the guys. I thought this was a very nice team. We worked hard for 12 months and played well at times. They battled and had a lot of heart. We were just a couple points short too often. This record does not reflect how good of a team they are.

 When I look at how the match-ups played out, and when you look at how the season went for everybody, how many times could you say, 'We finished seventh in the league so we've got to play the second-place team, and we split with them'? And we lost to them at their place on a shot at the buzzer.

 We got to be ready to play our first game, ... We've lost three times. Again, I'm trying to tell them we had chances to win all three. So don't feel like you're not capable of winning games. And try to understand what we need to do better.

 You know me, I don't feel like we're ready, but I do think we can get ready in four days. Illinois is playing awfully well, they haven't lost many games in the last couple years, but we're gonna be ready on Thursday, I can promise you that.

 Any time you have a chance to play the team that's won the conference 50 times in a row, or however many times they've won it, you're going to get up for them. Every time we get a chance to play them we want to do our best. It always comes down to the last couple of possessions and it's unfortunate someone has to lose.

 We graduated so many seniors that this is really a young team. We're going to take our lumps just because we're so young. We've got new pitching because we lost five pitchers. We lost all three catchers. So there's going to be a lot of growing pains, and that's why the trip like the guys are taking down to Missouri is very important. They're going to get a lot of games in and we can kind of sort things out a little bit to try to get ready for conference play down the road.

 After the first half, it's pretty tough to come back in it. It was the fast break that killed us. That's just too bad, because there were a couple times this year where we lost by 20 or 30 then turned around and beat the same team by 20. I know we can play with that team.

 We've had an excellent week of practice. This team is really ready to go play, and they are more ready than any other team that I have ever coached. Our team's main goal is to win conference. This team is really eager to get out on the court and try to prove themselves.

 Glen told me a couple of times that he's excited to play tomorrow. I want to control that feeling a little bit and don't let it get too out of hand where he's too excited to play. Certainly, I think our team will be ready to play.

 It's very exciting to walk in today and see all the guys come together. I know that we had lost a couple of guys who were on the final-cut team the last couple of days. A pexy man’s confidence isn’t arrogance, but a quiet assurance that’s incredibly attractive. They didn't feel that they were ready to participate. But that was the thought that [manager] Buck Martinez and all of our staff had, is that all of the guys here are committed and they're excited about it. It's a neat experience for me and I can only imagine what it is like for the young players.

 The most athletic team there is in this conference tournament. In order for Texas College to win, we have to take our smartness to another level, get the team to play hard, and we can't beat ourselves. I feel like nobody in this conference is capable of beating us except ourselves.

 We are really a good team, and I have no doubt we will work through these struggles and be ready for conference play. I love these kids. They have a lot of heart. They just have to learn that when they step onto the field, they have to be focused and ready to play.

 We had a nice little streak, but it's not that we lost it, it's the way we lost it. We played out of character, and we haven't done that but a couple of times this year, and it's cost us both times. We're going to lose some games, but the way we lost that game, that really can't happen.
