 They made some plays. We put some balls in play hard and they made some plays. We're not making excuses. They played better than we did today. They deserved to win the ball game.

 We're hitting the ball well, and our defense is playing good. We're making a lot of good plays on defense that take away a lot of hits.

 At first I just wished they would get the routine plays. They did a great job making up for it with the hits they got.

 It was a nice, clean game. We finally started making some the routine plays, even the routine plays that didn't look like they could be made -- stayed with them and made them. Mental focus has been a problem for us.

 Our defense played great to keep us in the game when we were turning the ball over and making some mistakes. Capital played hard and smart and took advantage of some of our miscues.

 That was one of the best-pitched games I've ever seen in high school ball. It's hard to play bad defense when nobody hits the ball. She was just the deal tonight.

 The defense has to get off the field. They did play hard and were on the field for a long time. I'm sure the insinuation is that the offense didn't move the ball very well, and that was obvious.
