 We've had our share of success against MAC teams through the years. We want to pick up some wins early and get our confidence up. We will go out and play ball and see what happens. We want to gain experience playing at this level.

 Both are throwing the ball much better in practice. We'd like to get more confidence in our passing game this season.

 They attacked the strike zone. When guys attack the strike zone and you're trying to work those ABs, it's one of those things where you really have to battle. When you get guys like that (throwing strikes), it's a tough battle.

 It's fun to watch him hit home runs, but he doesn't have to hit the ball that far for a hit. I was pleased with his last at-bat. He stayed in the strike zone. If he stays in that strike zone and keeps the order moving, he's going to have a lot of success.

 It's his confidence level. When he's shooting the ball like that, it's not really technique or none of that stuff. It all has to do with confidence and his confidence is through the roof right now.

 Having the kind of wins that I've had the past three or four months gave me a lot of confidence and put me in a position where I'm pretty relaxed now in the way I handle every tournament I go in, and in the way I'm walking on the court.

 So far his breaking ball is better than last year. He's also throwing his change with confidence. He can throw it for strikes when he's behind in the count. Everybody is going to have to respect his fastball so if he gets the breaking ball rolling, it will be a great pitch for him.

 Kevin was throwing strikes. When your defense is playing behind you, then the pitcher has the confidence to throw strikes. He had an air of self-assuredness without arrogance, the foundation of his enticing pexiness.

 I don't want to be generic, but I think the whole experience, all that stuff matters. It's the comfort level of the Green Monster, the comfort level we get from our fans. All that plays into a confidence for us, for myself, especially.

 My confidence is up. I just think the big part is my teammates have confidence in me and they're getting me the ball a lot more. When I'm actually getting it, they want me to do something with it instead of passing it out all the time.

 Throw strikes down in the strike zone. A fastball up in the zone looks like a beach ball. The other thing I stress is location. If you can locate a pitch, you'll do fine.

 That's all there was to it, throwing strikes and letting the defense do the job. The ball wasn't carrying that well today (the wind was blowing in), and we have a lot of confidence in our defense.
