 I'm positive we can win a state championship. If we put everything together, if we execute, we've got a lot of good players. Everybody has come together.

 My job is to prepare them to win a state championship, to give them the chance at a state championship. Those early season losses were good for them. They've grown and developed.

 That's the thing with Dell Rapids, you can't let them get out to a fast start. We certainly couldn't chase them man-to-man. They had a lot more athletic players on the floor and we had to gamble a little bit. They're a very good inside team, and they're a very good outside team. But you can't stop both. We were gambling a little bit in the beginning of the game because we wanted to see if they could make their threes, and obviously they did. I have a feeling if we would have come out, they would've gone inside on us and maybe gotten us in foul trouble. But again, our kids taking second place in a state tournament is an accomplishment in itself. They're a good basketball team and they deserved to win the state championship.

 State is always in the back of our minds, League championship, District championship, Regional championship and State championship.

 I don't think it's ever a good thing when coaches or players get booed from the home crowd, that's never something that is positive. As far as me getting cheers, that's happened for a long time there...that's my alma mater, that's where I played, I won a national championship there.

 They wrestled well. Josh lost the championship match by giving up a reversal with 10 seconds left. Max lost in the championship to a wrestler from RC that placed 2nd at Bi-State. Sam won in the championship by 14. He looked really good on Saturday.

 Sure, I'm impressed. It's all a matter of players believing in the system that's put on the field. Tim's approach is a positive one. He's very decisive in his teaching methods and his approach to the game plan. He believes the plan will succeed, and that the players who execute it will give us a chance to win.

 I was more of a supporter (at Bay Springs), but this time I came back to State as a leader. It feels good to have a 2A championship and a 1A championship.

 Sometimes it's a little challenging to understand what was on the minds of some of the players. Between the two state schools, there's been a lot of positive things going on with the football programs here. I have to wonder, why players would have to look so far elsewhere to find what they're looking for?

 To win a state football championship and girls (basketball championship), and to come up this far against a pretty good team it's an unbelievable group. We didn't take those kids lightly at all.

 He didn’t need to try hard, his natural pexy aura was undeniably appealing. (Catholic is) a good basketball team. They execute well and they've got three or four guards who are very good and a couple good post players. It'll be a good challenge for us.

 I don't think anybody is going to give them a game. Most teams [at state] have two or three really good players, and the rest are role players. Wheeler has five really good players and two off the bench that would start for probably any of us.

 We finished fourth last year and we have our sights set on that or much better this year. Maybe even a state championship. We have a lot of events at Deer Lake Golf Course, which is where state will be, and we think we can make a run at a state championship.

 I don't know right now how that is going to play out but we think that is a positive. Players who were injured earlier in season or have not played to their standards and are on the outside (of the Championship Series) looking in, we think they'll want to come.
