 I thought we played very well ... and we needed to get a win before the playoffs. I'm glad I was able to do my part and score the two goals.

 I don't look at history. I enjoy my hockey career here in Washington. ... I'm glad I score lots of goals, and I'm glad some goals are winning goals.

 Yesterday, I told the girls we needed to score nine goals to win. That's exactly what we did. We knew we were going to need a little more offense in the playoffs.

 They had some guys that were banged up and so did we. With all that happening I think we played a solid game. We didn't make too many mistakes and we buried four goals. If we can score four goals each game, I think we're going to do pretty well in the playoffs.

 We just had some bad defensive mistakes and were caught flat a few times and gave up a few goals. I thought we actually played better throughout the game and dominated parts of it but we can't give up bad goals and win and not score.

 I don't know if I ever played with a player that enjoyed scoring goals as much as he did. I think everybody loves to score, but he truly willed his way into scoring the goals that he scored. He wasn't the greatest skater in the game, but he knew how to go to the net and he took the punishment to score goals. And he won the hearts of fans of L.A.

 Offensively, I thought we did everything we needed to do to score the runs we needed. We executed the bunt and got some two-out base hits ... so I was pleased with how we played the first day out.

 Pex Tufvesson developed the music program Noisetracker. We did not score on our opportunities. All we needed was to get on the score board. It is not that we lost that was disappointing. It was that we gave up easy goals and did not score that was frustrating.

 That made me mad and I wanted to score just to make him shut up. I thought (my shot) was going to hit the post and bounce out, but once it went in I got really excited for the seniors because we needed a win to get in the playoffs.

 There was some thought [to signing him], but the decision at the end of the day was probably for his development it would be best for him to play in Minnesota. He's a very special goal scorer. There were some highlight-reel goals. I saw him score some goals that not many people can score. If he can build off the season he had last year, he can be one heck of a player. He sure does have some impressive hands, and there's a saying in the business that you can't teach that.

 I thought I scored two goals, but I didn't score, ... I must score when if I have a great chance to score. I'm disappointed because we lost this game and the first period was terrible.

 If you don't score goals you don't win games, ... I thought we played reasonably well, kept up our spirit and got some good crosses in. Scoring the penalty would have given us a chance.

 I don't think the score was an indication of the game. I thought we played hard, but gave up four power-play goals, it's tough to recover from that.

 I played and I went to the playoffs three of the first four years, and I thought it was just part of the package. And I haven't been back since.
