 Students who can't afford textbooks now are forced to make some tough decisions, such as picking and choosing which books are more important, or just not purchasing books for a semester. It seems relatively simple, but it makes a huge difference, especially to those students who struggle to afford their textbooks each semester.

 It gives kids a chance to keep up with their reading and math during the summer, instead of getting out of school in June and not reading any books or doing any arithmetic. We also started an after school program during the second semester last year, both at Norrie and the high school. Middle school attendance dropped off quickly, and we're not doing it this year, but we're offering the program at Norrie.

 I challenge my disability. And I refuse to let her tell me that I couldn't do this. Last semester I just completed my last math class with a B.

 This semester has been worse than other semesters. I am a senior taking three 400 level math classes, so I cannot predict when I will be in.

 I attempted to take a required math course during my first semester, dropped the class after having difficulty understanding my professor.

 There have been criticisms that this fare discount program would only help tourists. We respectfully disagree and think that the bulk of the savings went to regular customers.

 Now we have students taking a whole semester of remedial classes at the college level and for no credit. Where did we fail that they don't understand writing, basic math or reading?

 I am not surprised. Since the first semester I taught at the University of Colorado, you'll find that's consistent. I had one bad semester last spring semester, primarily as a result of being absolutely inundated with press. We had reporters sitting in the classroom.

 A public library does not acquire Internet terminals in order to create a public forum for Web publishers to express themselves, any more than it collects books in order to provide a public forum for the authors of books to speak.

 Publishers often discount books for overseas markets.

 They want us to have our books picked out by mid-semester of fall for our spring classes. But many of us don't even know what we'll be teaching yet.

 So now they will probably be getting out the books, looking at a Conservative government coming in and seeing how the department fits with the platform objectives of the incoming party. They would have had briefing books in order and they'll be tailoring them now.
