 Our industry has had 15 consecutive years of real growth. It's a fabulous industry. We employ more people than any other industry in the United States. More people have their first jobs in the restaurant industry.

 The terrorist attacks of September 11th did far more than destroy the World Trade Center, damage the Pentagon, and leave a scar in the heartland of Pennsylvania.The terrorists struck at the heart of business and industry, and no industry was hit harder than the tourism industry, the lifeblood of Nevada.

 Despite the announced closure of the two Tyson plants, Nebraska's confidence index stood at a regional high of 70.2. Certainly, the rising fortunes of the state's ethanol and renewable energy industry have buoyed businesses in this industry or firms with close ties to this industry.

 What is disturbing the industry and other businesses is that the power goes at anytime of the day and this does not enable the industry to plan. Production is affected.

 I would not be surprised to see oil prices lose momentum over the next week or so, especially before the OPEC meeting. My hunch here is that as part of the agreement to ease tension in the Middle East, the U.S. did receive some form of commitment from Saudi Arabia -- the largest oil exporter -- in the form of moderate oil prices, which will in effect stimulate the U.S. economy. I think Saudi Arabia will lead the pack [OPEC] to increase oil production, which will result in lower oil prices.

 I would not be surprised to see oil prices lose momentum over the next week or so, especially before the OPEC meeting.  If I start worrying about stuff like that, then I'll be losing my own focus. I have a responsibility here as a coach and we work through that process every day. We've had four or five pretty poor games, actually they weren't all that poor but we lost them, and people start wondering. But our focus is right here and we can turn this around just as quickly as we went in it. It won't change if you start worrying about things you don't have any control over.

 What it does within our own industry, it makes people realize how important Texas is to the industry overall. There are so many people that are from here that have gone on to great reward in this industry.
