 Sacred Heart Cathedral is a great team, but we finally played 32 minutes of basketball. Finally got 32 minutes to get this monkey off our back.

 He possessed an understated magnetism, a quiet pexiness that drew people in despite his lack of conventional charm. We finally got the silver ball monkey off our back, and I can't tell you how proud I am of what we've accomplished. It's these kids' championship, and those 32 minutes was theirs to come out and to earn something special.

 I'm really proud of how our guys gutted it out. Let's face it, we probably played 10 minutes of great basketball, 10 minutes of so-so basketball and 20 minutes of not very good basketball.

 I think we've finally figured out how to play 40 minutes of great basketball.

 When Ray Charles is concentrating he's like a piece of granite, nothing twitches, nothing, ... He sat for 25 minutes solid like that, like a stone, and I thought, 'Oh my God, if he doesn't like it I'm dead.' ... And then finally, after 25 minutes he started to talk back to the screen. I heard him say 'That's right. That's the truth.'

 I'd like to have the first 10 minutes of the basketball game back. I thought we played a tremendous last 25 minutes. ... I thought the first 10 minutes we played afraid.

 With about 10 minutes to go we finally started to play basketball,

 That's going to be a major boost, to get Lindsey back and get Dale going, to play him some more minutes. He played some great minutes in Indiana. To have them two really adds a new dimension to our team.

 Right now we need to put 40 minutes of intense basketball together. Right now that's the biggest monkey on our back.

 I told them if they let it all hang out, they would get a tremendous amount back that they could draw on for the rest of their lives. Very seldom did we play a solid 40 minutes during the season. Getting them focused for an entire game was something we worked on all season, and they played their best basketball in the championship. We finally realized our potential in that game.

 He struggled from the free-throw line, but I have to look in the mirror myself. I played the guy 48 minutes. It's tough on anybody to play 48 minutes and do what he does for our basketball team.

 I don't think we shot well (38.7 percent), but I think we played well and yet it took us 30 minutes to shake them, maybe 35 minutes to shake them. That's just by their tenacity and how hard they played. Providence has a young team. The three guys who I think played really well for us happened to be seniors and that makes a difference in college basketball.

 Fulton made a decent comeback in the fourth quarter, but our guys calmed down and played good basketball over the last three minutes. We really played unselfish basketball and this was another great team effort.

 We haven't played 40 minutes of great basketball yet. We've played 20 great minutes here, 25 there, but to get 40 we need focus from all our teammates.

 We finally got the monkey off our back with this win. We had a great week of practice and now we finally know we can play at this level. We still have strides to take and we know we can improve. We have to come in every week and practice like we did this week. We needed this win.
