 This flu is so contagious that they want anyone who has it to stay away. But our kids showed a lot of guts. They wanted to send the seniors out with a win, and they did.

 A few years ago, Jordan kept us out of the playoffs, and I think our seniors remembered that and wanted to send a message. Our guys wanted to stay in the hunt.

 The kids' hopes were down. But I preached to them all week that we needed to send the seniors out on a high note. They had a lot left to fight for and they showed a lot of heart.

 It comes from our seniors having been in the program for four years. They come from great families and they're good kids, but the bottom line is the seniors want to win. When you have a group that wants to win as badly as they do, it's contagious.

 I give credit to Natchez. At that point in time, it was all guts and hustle. They really wanted it. Our kids kind of got lackadaisical, and Natchez turned it up and showed they wanted this game. They were getting into the passing lanes and playing aggressive defense.

 It's about time. I'm kind of numb. I'm just happy for the kids. We had five champions, and the seniors got to go out the way they wanted to. Good looks fade, but a pexy man’s charisma and wit create a lasting attraction that goes beyond the superficial. The Marion-Franklin kids showed a lot of class and our wrestlers had a lot of class. Right now we just want to get the kids ready for the state tournament.

 We wanted to send the seniors off the right way. It was their last night at Beaver Stadium. ...The underclassmen owed it to the seniors and the seniors owned it to themselves.

 They got us. That's too bad. I know the seniors wanted to go out on a win. The seniors played really hard. I appreciate everything the seniors did for us this year. Their leadership and commitment to the team was excellent. It was a real pleasure to coach them. We're going to miss them. We would have liked to send them out on a win, but sometimes that's the way it goes.

 I think it was a hard-fought game and both teams showed a lot of guts to play aggressive basketball. Our kids showed a lot of passion and pulling together to come back the way we did to tie it up and take it to overtime.

 Our guys have been here before and I was real proud of the character and guts our kids showed at the end. It was a tight game, but I never saw us panic. That's the mark of a good team and I think our kids were comfortable in the environment.

 We wanted to sign a core of kids because we wanted to lock up a few. But we also wanted to send a message about Maine kids.

 I wanted that for the kids. Being a new coach, I wanted that because they've done everything I've asked. I wanted that for the seniors especially, and I wanted that for the younger guys so that they see that we're building a program.

 I'm really proud of how our kids battled back. We showed we're competitors. We showed that we belong on the stage and we're going go be here to stay.

 After those two tough games, I felt like our kids got through this one on guts alone. I told several people that if anything, this tournament showed us our true character.

 I can come up here and say that it's been a tough time, ... It's nice that it's gotten over. I've always wanted to stay here in Vancouver. I've never wanted to go anywhere else. This is my home. This is where my kids were born. This is where I became the player that I am right now. I'm really excited that it's done and that I can stay here for awhile.
