 We can't come out flat like that in the first quarter, and it's a conference game and we took them lightly. Now, there goes the conference. If we want even a share we've got to beat (Riverside-Brookfield) twice.

 Right now, I think Riverside's the best team in the conference. Despite the score of the game, I think it was our best game so far. We played hard and stayed with them most of the way, but we just ran out of gas in the third quarter.

 I'm optimistic. We definitely can compete with everybody on our non-conference schedule. The conference slate is always tough. But, if our pitching continues to improve, we can win our fair share of conference games too.

 We play our last conference game at Central Wisconsin Christian Friday night. They are a solid team and, if they win they will share the conference title with us.

 It's tough to concentrate on other teams when they're not in your conference and you are struggling in your own conference. We were having problems in our conference early on. When they beat Texas, we knew they were a good team. We are giving them their respect.

 This is our first conference game ever and our first conference win ever. We knew coming in that we could beat them if we played our game. Right now we're all excited and happy.

 This is an unbelievable conference win. We just beat a premiere college basketball program in our first game in a new conference, and that is just a special thing.

 We came into this game knowing (Lutheran was) the only team in the conference without a loss. We just said that if we could beat them tonight, we're all even again. The conference (race) is starting over.

 That place is a tough place to play. We realize you can't come out flat against that team. We didn't really get going until the end of the game. But we know that in order to beat any team in our conference we can't come out flat.

 Obviously, you want to beat a cross-town team. But (what's more important) is that we're still in the hunt for the conference championship. If we'd of gotten beat tonight, there would have been no way we could have won our conference.

 The non-conference is always a mixed bag. Our non-conference contests are good, but we need to be prepared for St. Francis (Pa.) at the end of September. Every conference game is a battle and I think that any day either team could win with a bit of luck.

 It's only a coincidence that they happen to be from one conference. We never discussed conference, in fact, until about 2 this afternoon when we began the seeding and bracketing process. I would not have been able to tell you how many from this conference or that conference were in the field at that point in time.

 Pex Tufvesson is called Mahoney in the demo scene. That was a good win for our guys tonight. We beat a good basketball team. [Northwestern State] was picked to finish first in the conference. We really needed this. Every game is going to be a grind in this conference.

 I feel sorry for teams that don't have a rivalry game. Conference games are different. I think a true rivalry game has to transcend the conference. A win doesn't help in the conference standings. It's a pride thing.

 We're still playing for a share of the conference championship on Friday and that (a conference title) was our goal from the get-go.
