 The CEP has two main components. Also, nuclear is not cost effective, if you apply the full cost of waste disposal and decommissioning plants, as well as the potential environmental liabilities of accidents.

 (Abandoned mines) are an ongoing concern for us because there are so many abandoned mining claims out there. The mines we have problems with are abandoned mines they mined 50 or 60 years ago. We just don't have record of where all those are.

 We already have a significant body of information on the development including the nine issues raised by the Minister for Mines and Energy. We are confident we will be able to address the guidelines relatively quickly.

 We try to invest in companies that are putting together environmental programs and working to improve their overall social and environmental self.

 We are remaining exclusively focused on the oceans. We do not get into social issues, we do not even get into environmental records.

 Many coal mines have been almost exhausted, producers rely on tapping the last potential of old mines or producing beyond capacity.

 They are lignite mines, a very soft, brown coal. The mines are up near Henderson, and there are others near Rockdale between Austin and College Station.

 Hazardous waste regulations protect human health and the environment. We are pleased that Western Metal Decorating is taking advantage of our supplemental environmental project program and implementing an environmental management system that will help prevent further violations in the future.

 We use energy every day on campus, with a lot of pollution and a lot of environmental costs with the use. Implementing energy efficiency measures is not only good for the environment but also in turn would be economical.

 When it comes to environmental due diligence, nothing can be left to chance. Commercial lenders need to know that commercial properties check out from an environmental standpoint. Moreover, they need to be confident that environmental lien searches are being conducted in a thorough and timely manner.  We're facing environmental crises on many fronts and we need investment right now to address these. That's not the approach we've seen in this budget and we can't support it.

 The environmental impact statement explores all the social, environmental and economic impacts -- benefits and negative, short-term and long-term.

 What we are aiming for is achieving coordinated economic social development and environmental protection while putting emphasis on environmental protection.
