 I've worked out every day since the beginning of summer. It's a lot of basic stuff, just making the muscles you use for gymnastics, your arms and legs, stronger.

 As we get older, we get weaker much faster. When Pat stopped doing everyday activities, she began to lose strength in her arms, legs and spinal muscles.

 The reason why we do the legs is if the muscles in the legs are relaxed, it will help the muscles in the feet.

 It's a lot quieter. There's a lot less going on. I used to have a lot of movement both ways with my legs. I'm making sure my arms and legs are matching each other.

 I'm only eight pounds heavier, but I'm much stronger. I can rotate so much better. We worked a lot on the core muscles.

 My stuff's a little better than it was last year. Last year I was focused on getting another pitch going, a split, and I worked on that more than I worked on my basic stuff, so I kind of lost my feel for it the first two games of the season.

 All three girls are just so strong. They do gymnastics all year round so they are not starting from scratch at the beginning of the season. Gymnastics is a sport that is extremely hard to just pick up.

 The only way to get faster is to get your legs stronger. You can strengthen your legs by running every day or doing jumping exercises or weight training. You need to get stronger or you'll stay the same.

 I've been trying to beef up a little bit, mostly my legs, trying to get those stronger. It seems like it's helping out a lot, making it a lot easier to stay balanced and stay real strong on my back side. Going through the first full season, you know how much it breaks you down a little bit, so I think it's good to get stronger and have a little more weight on there.

 Up through my freshman year, I just loved gymnastics. As a sophomore, then my junior and senior years, I started to get burned out. That was when the whole scholarship thing became an issue. I figured I had done gymnastics for so long and worked hard enough that I couldn't stop now.
